Clear Skies by Vincent Ryan Borres

Clear Skies

by Vincent Ryan Borres

I saw an ad or a post in Facebook group/community that I'm in which is called Pinoy Musikero UK (PMUK) and it was posted by Port Mallilin asking the members to participate and join Side Projects' tribute album, a compilation of original music from Filipino musicians in the UK to the victims of Habagat flood in the Philippines.  I was interested and I was waiting for something big and with a cause and I thought at that time that this is it.

I was again inspired and being emotional because of the tragedy that happened in my homeland, the Philippines, I started writing the song.  The concept Clear Skies was to inspire people that after a storm, surely the sun will shine and the clouds will clear, giving as new hope and new beginning.  So, that's where my song was heading.  Giving hope and inspiration that there's always a new begining, a new tomorrow and a better future as long as we have trust and faith to one another and help each other just like this project compilation album where Filipinos are kwown for Bayanihan.

Hope you guys will support the upcoming coming album, which will be released this September 2012 in aid for the flood victims in the Philippines.

My Mobile Recording Studio

My mobile laptop recording studio This does not mean having a portable handheld recording device and also this is not the proper recording studio, which have all the complete amenities and gear but what I mean when I say Mobile recording studio is that this is something that can be transferred to any location and set up as quickly as you can. Like for example, in my case, I don’t have a proper recording studio or room to record so sometimes I’m doing it in our lounge or other times I will set it up in our dining area or sometimes in our bedroom.   Also by saying mobile recording studio, in any case I’m moving to another place I can easily pack up things and bring it with me like for example I’m here in England as of now and if ever I’m going back home in the Philippines after my contract expires, I can easily bring my recording studio gear and equipment back home.   So, this is not an on-site recording studio or a portable recording studio this is just my own mobile l...

EnergyXT comes with a flashdrive

EnegyXT comes with a portable drive or what we call flash drive.   In there are necessary files to run EnergyXT to any computer from a desktop or a laptop or a netbook as long as you got access to USB. The files that we need to copy are: clips presets projects samples temp\ energyXT2.exe energyXT.ini lame.exe libaam.dll xt.lck     energyXT2 VST.dll      energyXT.ini And paste these files in the program files with your folder EnergyXT then create a desktop shortcut or copy the shortcut onto your desktop.   The more you update your EnergyXT the more files will be included like rexloader, etc. You can now hop from one computer to another always make sure to keep your flashdrive safe and secure. This is what Im doing now, from Dell Inspiron to Sony Vaio to my wife's HP mini.  Really portable and handy.

First gig in Manila

I was working in a medical transcription company in Makati and after nearly a year, I found fellow musicians.  We started like a choir and I'm their guitarist and during birthdays especially with bosses and managers, we try to sing their favourite song in a choir arrangement with just a classical guitar accompaniment. Then, later on we formed a band with Rodel on drums, Greg on Keyboards, Zarelle on bass then later on had a sessionist "Amboy" bassist, sorry can't remember the name, then loads of vocalist as I've said we were originally a choir.... Shoan, Chelo, Sherwin and Bing.  We used to practise in Mang Alberto's rehearsal studio near Nepa Q-Mart.  We used to commute via MRT and sometimes, Greg's car.  The studio was all right because all the instruments and amplifiers are all ready there.  From drums, can't remember exactly what brand, one Fender guitar amp and one Peavey guitar amp, Carlsbro bass amp, Casio keyboards I think but my mate Greg pr...
