Crossedwind frontact in Bamboo's gig Colchester

Bamboo Live in Colchester 2013

I wanted to share this video guys taken during our opening act with Bamboo's concert in Colchester last April 6, 2013.  It was an amazing night.  We had lunch with Bamboo and his band in Rovers Tye pub in Colchester. I had 5 oz rump steak.  It was delicious.  Then around 2 pm we headed to Colchester Leisure World for soundcheck.  The PA system was not yet fully setup because of health and safety paperworks and documentation, which was the cause of delay but finally it was done and they started setting up.  Bamboo's band was the first one to do their soundcheck then around half past six we had our chance to do the soundcheck. The crowd was already there and you can see their eagerness and excitement.  They were really supportive and I might add that they are really wild crowd.  I can see from the stage that they were drinking Red Horse.  I think the Brits loved it as well.  It was new to their taste and it is a strong beer. Some of them bought Red Horse for take home.

Bamboo is a very professional guy.  During the meet and greet session, he made sure that all their gears and CDs or photos are signed.  He asked them questions and made sure that all in queue will get the chance to meet and greet him.  Even when we were already starting with our set, he never stopped signing autographs and during our second song he passby and clapped his hands to us while we were playing and the crowd screamed.  He is a total performer.  Very energetic.  Trademark moves and his distinct vocals.  He really made the crowd of Colchester as well as Norwich really happy.  It was indeed a gig to remember.  Also after the show no matter how tired he was, he still gave it all to the fans not to mention even us who also waited for him outside the dressing room for photos and autograph signing.

Bamboo played loads of songs, it was really worth it.  He played their famous hit songs during Rivermaya days.  Hinahanap hanap kita, Ulan, Awit ng kabataan, Elesi, Kung ayaw mo huwag mo.  Then, he also shared to us and sang his new songs from the album No Water, No Moon.  I love the song "Questions."  I can't remember the rest of the songs from that album but all in all it was five new songs.  Then, the crowd got wild when he sang their hit songs during Bamboo days as a band like Probinsyana, Tatsulok, Hallelujah, Noypi.  The band did an encore which is 214 and Man in the mirror.

Enjoy some of the photos taken from the pub with Bamboo and his bandmates as well as our gig itself as the opening act in Colchester Leisure World.

Subtle Culprits - new band to follow this 2015

I recently formed a group called Subtle Culprits. It was pure luck to meet all these awesome musicians. It all started with JoinMyBand.  I was desperate for a vocalist and do some acoustic duo so I posted on JoinMyBand as well as Gumtree some ads that Im interested for a vocalist to collaborate with and that Im based in Romsey. There were people who showed interest i.e. emailed me and contacted me. There was one as well who came and visited for an audition. I really admired her voice but still didn't work out because it took me awhile to contact her back after that audition due to moving houses. Anyways, she did not reply or show any interest after that. So, I continued trying my luck. The first one to join was Dan. He got interested because we are from the same area (Romsey). So he messaged me and said that he is a songwriter and a musician. Can play guitar but much comfortable with the bass. So we arranged a meetup and chat, and we did. Exchanged some ideas and songs online...

I mentored a band from scratch

I was first year college, studying nursing when a group of youngsters from Capiz National High School asked  me to help them form a band.  Their band leader was Betong who was the brain of this brilliant idea.  None of the group plays instrument although most of them got knowledge of what the band is and what instruments like drums, keyboards, bass and guitars.  Anyway to cut the story short, the band was starting from scratch or not even scratch because I haven't heard them playing or singing or if they really got the talent or just the guts to do it.  So, I asked them how many are going to join the band and who's going to sing, play the drums, the guitar, the bass and the keyboards if ever?  And because they were all classmates and good friends so they have already decided on who's who and what instrument to play.  I started with the guitarist, which is Daboy and he doesn't know yet how to play the guitar as in proper guitar playing, all he knows is ...
