Lyon Strat by Washburn used as bass and lead

My first electric guitar package was Lyon by Washburn, mind you Im a big fan of Fender Stratocaster and my dream electric guitar is a Gibson SG or an Epiphone will do.  After a long battle of searching online and reading reviews about guitar from Google and which music store online to buy, again from eBay to Amazon to Digital Village, etc., I finally decided to just go to the nearest music store in Southampton to look, try and then hopefully buy an electric guitar.

I tried a couple of shops which were adjacent to each other, The Guitar Store Online and then Becketts.  I tried to look at the guitars and was a bit shy to try one and because of my tight budget plus being the new
kid in town, I was really shy to test their guitar.  But then, I conquered my shyness and tried a couple, and finally decided to buy this Lyon electric guitar by Washburn, colour black bundled with gig bag, 10-watt Stagg practise amp, strap, 3 plectrums and 3-meter lead from Becketts.

The guitar is superb, double humbucker bridge pickup, and two single coil’s, 5-way toggle switch, 1 volume knob and 1 tone knob.  The action was fairly decent, but the sound or tone quality was rather brilliant.
The store was clever coz I didn’t realize I was using a high-end
amplifier, which is not the one included with the bundle, not the 10-watt Stagg practise amp.

After buying the guitar, I went home and hooked up everything and tried using the practise amp, the sound was just right especially on low volume, tried using the built-in overdrive it was decent but not imkpressive.  Tried it on clean tone, using the neck pickup and I was supised, it is rather performing well.  The one good thing about this practise amp is the MP3 input where I can use either iPhone or iPad to jam, as well as the headset output where it’s easy and convenient to jam in my room without disturbing others.

I then bought Digitech RP55 and it changed everything from the sound of the guitar to the sound of this 10W Stagg practise amp, it made it sound bigger.  I purchased this electric guitar multi effects Processor from Amazon.  No regets whatsoever about this Digitech RP55, small gadget but with big punch as they say.

How to export MP3 in EnergyXT

Energy XT file save as MP3 The first thing we need to do in order to export our file, loop, clip, song or project into MP3 is to download and install LAME file to EnergyXT program.   Here’s the link where to download the LAME codec   http://lame.sourceforge.net/ Here’s another site where you can download LAME file.   http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lame-bundle.php After successfully downloading the LAME exe file.   Copy it and paste it in your EnergyXT folder.   Normally the directory will be like this C:\Program Files\Energy XT\energyXT 2.5 for Windows Try and open now your EnergyXT and save or export file as MP3 to see if it works.

EnergyXT comes with a flashdrive

EnegyXT comes with a portable drive or what we call flash drive.   In there are necessary files to run EnergyXT to any computer from a desktop or a laptop or a netbook as long as you got access to USB. The files that we need to copy are: clips presets projects samples temp\ energyXT2.exe energyXT.ini lame.exe libaam.dll xt.lck     energyXT2 VST.dll      energyXT.ini And paste these files in the program files with your folder EnergyXT then create a desktop shortcut or copy the shortcut onto your desktop.   The more you update your EnergyXT the more files will be included like rexloader, etc. You can now hop from one computer to another always make sure to keep your flashdrive safe and secure. This is what Im doing now, from Dell Inspiron to Sony Vaio to my wife's HP mini.  Really portable and handy.

Subtle Culprits - new band to follow this 2015

I recently formed a group called Subtle Culprits. It was pure luck to meet all these awesome musicians. It all started with JoinMyBand.  I was desperate for a vocalist and do some acoustic duo so I posted on JoinMyBand as well as Gumtree some ads that Im interested for a vocalist to collaborate with and that Im based in Romsey. There were people who showed interest i.e. emailed me and contacted me. There was one as well who came and visited for an audition. I really admired her voice but still didn't work out because it took me awhile to contact her back after that audition due to moving houses. Anyways, she did not reply or show any interest after that. So, I continued trying my luck. The first one to join was Dan. He got interested because we are from the same area (Romsey). So he messaged me and said that he is a songwriter and a musician. Can play guitar but much comfortable with the bass. So we arranged a meetup and chat, and we did. Exchanged some ideas and songs online...
