I am a proud member of Crossedwind and prouder to announce that our songs are now available on iTunes and Amazon.  You can search us via Google or directly on your iTunes store.  A couple of months back we recorded at Ashwood Studio in Norwich, then our songs were mixed and mastered there.  After it was finished, we discussed on where to upload the song and what services to use.  I personally use Reverbnation and I'm quite pleased with their service.  But, I also heard about CD Baby and Tunecore.  So, we were in a dilemma on which service provider to use until we came up and decided to try Tunecore.  So far, we're happy because it was on time.  They said that the release date is July 3, 2013 which is today and they kept their promise. Had a wonderful time doing a charity gig for Abra, an island back home in the Philippines where children there are too eager to learn, however, they don't have a proper or decent school to study and no school supplies.  The project was very successful.  Port Mallilin and Carol Panday invited artists from Pilipino Musikero sa UK and loads pledged their support.  Also among the acts were Arisxandra Libantino, the pride of Filipinos in Britain who was one of the finalists. I am the guitarist of Crossedwind and we are dubbed as the House Band during the gig. We opened the event and then we were the closing act.  It was a fun night.  There were some challenges though.  Like for example, although myself and Ashley (sound director) were early to set up the amps and instruments, the pub's sound guy didn't like that we brought guitar, bass, and keyboard amps because it's going to be too loud.  He just want us to use their monitor speakers and house spea...

I am using an improvised setup for my effects and gadgets.  At the moment what Im using is a Digitech RP55 guitar processor and I bought on ebay an M-Audio expression pedal and sort of opened it and changed some polarity inside to match my Digitech foot pedal and it was a success.  I can now use the pedal either as a wah or whammy.  I was quite pleased with it because not only it's a small one but it's got a big punch. So much for that.  Now, having two pedals; a multieffects processor with the expression pedal connected to it, I think a pedalboard is a necessity.  Why?  Because the two pedals keep moving about and I had to kick it each time so that they are close to each other. I was using the same electric guitar for 4 years now and Im using a Lyon by Washburn strat style with double humbucker bridge pickup and two single coils on neck and mid.  The colour of my guitar is black finished and I wanted to do some accents or a little something that will change the image of my guitar. I went to Norwich, a couple days back with my band, Crossedwind, to record our original compositions.  We've been exchanging on the net about ideas and backing tracks on our songs.  We made use of our celphones, recording our raw materials... pretty rough record but we managed  Then, I keep doing the backing tracks so that my bandmates can rehearse the song whilst Im away because I live here in Southampton.  To cut the story short, we almost managed to practise and finalised our songs virtually. I used to record using my netbook and here's my blog about it " How I setup my mobile recording studio ;" however, recently some of my friends ask me about cheap recording and I found that what I was using in a sense is not that cheap because I bought my USB audio interface and the recording software separately and not to mention the price of the netbook or laptop for that matter.  Now I was researching on how to record guitar or vocals with just backing tracks and that's when the idea of iPad recording came about. Louie and I put up a music studio in Roxas City Capiz round about year 2007.  We've consolidated all our instruments, amps and other equipments. Found a not-so-ideal place to rent, but managed to convert it into a music studio and this was at Celino Bldg. just outside our house in Luna Novicio St. Roxas City.
