Whilst you're reading my blog about this amazing SG guitar, my heart feels empty and sad because I've already listed this for auction on eBay. This is a Silvertone SG copy, cherry red and rather vintage. It has a sticker at the back of the headstock that says Checked by Hadi 05/03 and then the neck plate got a serial number which I've searched online but couldn't find any result.... I know there must be a story about this guitar and the serial number is S02081852 and says made in Indonesia.
This is a very intriguing guitar, loads of stories behind it when I purchased it online. Bought it because it's my dream to own an SG guitar but I cant afford a brand new and original one so I bought used one and just a copy. I was waiting and waiting for it to arrived but it didn't on the estimated date and when it came, I was at work and nobody's home so they left a note that I had to get it from the post, which I did.
I was very excited, opened it checked, and it looks alright, a bit heavy but I love it. To my excitement, I gave the seller 5 star and a very good feedback without checking if the guitar works. So I plugged it in and to my surprise only the neck pickup was working properly and the bridge pick wasn't. I tried the toggle switch and it plays up, sometimes it works and then it will stop. So I decided to open it and check, and the wiring was loose. It was not soldered properly. Message the seller about it just to inform them. And they offer to arrange a collection and repair it for me but I declined and told them I can sort it out.
To cut the story short, I looked around even online for a quote on how much will it cost me for a repair of the guitar and only one replied amongst the three that I emailed. So I decided to repair it myself. I put a new set of strings and voila!!!! I fixed it and it works perfectly. Here's the evidence.

Now, you will be asking... why am I selling this one if I love it and if its my dream guitar? The answer is very simple, I needed money to share with my band Crossedwind the cost of our first album. We need to pay the recording studio plus we need to distribute our album online through digital distribution company so that our songs will be available on iTunes.
I am hoping that a collector of guitar would buy my guitar because I assured that it will be in good hands. Imagine this.... My Silvertone SG, in a vintage hardcase with a high quality strings and high quality guitar lead. How nice it would be. Rare and vintage look, feel and sound!!!!
Here's another video for you to see and hear how this rare and vintage look, feel and sound this guitar is: I plugged it directly on Roland Cube Street with no effects pedal just the built-in effects which is a little bit of delay and the Rectifier. The sound is really full, clear and the resonance of the wood plus the original pickup is still projecting its beauty through the sound that it produces and also the neck is perfect..... rather straight, well intonated and the action is decent.
Hope you enjoyed my review on this guitar and hope you are interested in buying this because it will help us with our upcoming album this November 2014 with my band Crossedwind. Cheers!
